Welcome to Rockschools!

Rockschools is a way for people in Northamptonshire to learn the skills of a musician, with electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, and piano/keyboard lessons - as well as the chance to form a band, and to play gigs and concerts.

What is Rockschools?

Created over 13 years ago to give 6 to 18 year olds a chance to achieve their musical potential, Rockschools have steadily grown in popularity and for the 2008-2009 season will be holding classes in Towcester, Brackley, and Middleton Cheney.

2008 also sees the opening of our new Rockschools for Adults - a wednesday session at Nicholas Hawkesmoor school in Towcester, that gives grown-ups the chance to relive their dreams of becoming a rockstar.

Throughout Rockschools, which is run as a series of weekly classes, students will enhance their instrumental and vocal skills, learn about stage lighting effects and study the basics of sound engineering. Students will also learn marketing and music promotion techniques, and will finally stage an inspirational 'end of term' performance in front of an audience of hundreds.

Students are encouraged to set their own goals, and work on their own intiative in a relaxed and friendly student-centred environment.

The Rockschools Difference

Bands created through Rockschools have twice won awards at the National Festival of Music for Youth, and annually perform at the National Rock and Pop Festival held at the NEC.
