June Newsletter

Dear students,

National Festival of Music for Youth - Monday 7th July
Carling Academy 2 in Birmingham

Prestige has been selected to play at the Rock, Pop and Urban Music Festival. There will be 12 bands playing in the evening. The winners will play at the School Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in November. This is a great opportunity for the band to be chosen as one of only twelve from a nationwide entry. A coach has now been booked to take the band and all students are invited to come and give their support. The coach will leave Towcester mid-morning, the concert finishes at about 9.45 so should return by about 11.00pm.

National Rock & Pop Festival - Friday 11th July
NEC in Birmingham

Several bands have been invited to play at the Rock and Pop Festival. A coach had now been booked to take the bands and again all students are invited to come and give their support. This is an all day event with workshops from 10.00am and an evening concert. The coach will leave Towcester early morning and will return after 11.00pm. This is therefore a longer day, but a very exiting and enjoyable one.

Important Information

For both events students must bring plenty of food and drink for the day as there is very little available at these venues and what is there is expensive. For each event the cost will be £10 towards the coach hire and Rockschools will pay for student concert tickets. Parents/carers are welcome to seats on the coach, dependant on space, but Rockschool staff will be accompanying all students. Adult concert tickets cost £8.

To book a place for either/both events, please download the following form and return it to Ros Miles along with payment of £10 (cash/cheques to Towcester Rock School) as soon as possible.
