Since the sad loss of Mark Tanton in September the members of his Rockschools bands, along with many of our students, parents and friends have been organising various fundraising events for Meningitis UK, both in his memory and to raise awareness of the dangers of meningitis for children and young people.

Thank you to all who contributed to our initial collection; with donations from students and parents, our Parents and Friends Assn. and Rockschools we were able to donate £250.00 to Mark’s parents for Meningitis UK.

At our concerts on 27 November and 4 December members of Mark’s band Behind Closed Doors continued to collect and raised a further £563.96.

Further fundraising efforts include a Benefit Gig on Friday 14 January. Details can be found at meningitisuk.tributefunds.com/fund/Mark+Tanton/showFund. Rockschools bands will be taking part in these events and again your support would be welcomed.

The tribute song ‘Gone Too Soon‘ by Rockschools band Behind Closed Doors in memory of their bass player Mark Tanton was released on Sunday 27 March, on iTunes.
