Welcome back to a new Rockschools Year

‘Picnic in the Park’

Open Day on Saturday 13 September 2014 from 12.30 pm to 3.00 pm at Nicholas Hawksmoor School, Towcester

We look forward to seeing you all again at our Annual Registration and Family Day, where you can meet up with friends, listen to our bands and register for the new Rockschool year.

The Parents and Friends Association will be providing ‘Tuck Shop’ and refreshments, so bring your own picnic to enjoy at our ‘Picnic in the Park’ while you listen to our bands.

Bands will be playing outside if the weather is fine, or inside in the school hall if need be. All students who have individual guitar, drum, piano and singing tuition are invited to come and listen to our Rockschools bands and to register to join a band themselves if not already in one.

Bands wishing to play on the day need to contact Ros Miles at rosmiles@rockschools.co.uk to arrange some practice time beforehand, which will be available from 12.00am onwards.

Rockschools fees per term are:

£112 per term for bands

£158 per term for individual tuition

All cheques are payable to Towcester Rockschool.

All students will need to have a new registration form signed by parent/carer and student for this year. Forms can be downloaded from the Rockschools website www.rockschools.co.uk or will be available to complete on Saturday. The 2014/15 Calendars for Towcester and Brackley are also available to download.

Please remember that although this may be a non-playing day for some, it is an important Rockschools session for all as I want to be able to discuss with each of you the band you would like to be with and plan your goals for the year with you personally.

Please note that due to health and safety requirements all electrical equipment used at Rockschools must be PAT tested. We will be providing a free PAT test for all students’ equipment during the term. All students bringing equipment must also bring their own extension lead to connect to the power breaker provided.

For any more information or if you have any queries regarding our Family Day please contact Ros Miles on 07738 974220 or at rosmiles@rockschools.co.uk .

Looking forward to seeing you all again on Saturday 13 September,

Brackley Young Musician of the Year

Saturday, December 28th, 2013

Do you recognise the smart boys is these photos! They are the members of Rockschools Bands Korrozion and The Performers who, with Calico Pie and Behind Closed Doors, took part in Brackley’s Young Musician of the Year competition. They were all entered in the Senior section of the competition which included classsical, jazz and brass bands, and our band members wanted to show that rock bands can look just as professional on stage as any other musicians when such a variety of music is being played.

All four of our bands received excellent adjudications and The Performers were chosen as the winners of the Senior Ensemble category and have been invited to play in the next round of the competition in the New Year.
